My name is Brenda Kelson. Most people just call me Brandy. I am incarcerated at Valley State Prison for Women under the California Three Strikes Law for 2nd degree robbery. I've been here for over five years pending appeals. Unfortunately my retained Appellate Attorney has taken flight. In the meantime, I am without an attorney and have no more funds to fight this horrible injustice.
My case involves owing three dollars to the store clerk. And for this I have a life sentence. 25 - Life. I am in need of support. I have tried to remain strong through it all. People ask me a lot how I do it ~ and it's knowing that one day someone will take notice, and I'll be released. I want to share my story and let people know that it can happen to the best of us. If you can assist me on any level of an appeal, I would appreciate it.
