Greetings From Mississippi!

I'm Joe, and my original poem tells alot. My life has been intriguing, and my current Rule 40 Appeal (pro se), interesting too.

If interested in a friendship, offering each other encouragement and hope on life's long journey.

"The Prisoner"

The walls of my cell are made of concrete,
With a steel framed door, to make it complete.

Captive I've been, for 11 years spent.
Fortunate am I, for this chance to repent.

A prisoner to myself, I've always been,
An addict of this world, since who knows when.

My past has pursued the shadow of desire...
Rampant attractions, that had spread like fire.

How cunning was the devil, to plant such a seed,
While watching me unfolding, a man of great need.

The path of destruction was mine to have known,
Had it not been for God, and the mercy he had shown.

The bottom I've hit, with the soul that I have taken, (R.I.P.)
Yet my God still stands before me, and will never be forsaken.

Addicted I may be, and a prisoner I'll always feel,
But my heart belongs to God, because this peace I know is real.

For now, my house may have walls that are made of concrete,
Eternally, it'll be worth it for my soul if the devil I defeat.

Since God is my salvation, and the one who holds the key,
And I'll gladly be that prisoner, for the one who
sets me free.
