Look In Me
By Chris Russell
As I Stand Before You,
What is It That You See?
Take a Moment Before you Speak,
To consider My Tender Plea.
See Me For Who I Am,
And the Good I can Make.
Don't Belittle Me as They've Done,
or Condemn Me For a Mistake.
I Know I'll Never be Perfect,
And Must Live with Decisions Made.
I Wish I Could Change my Past,
To Relinquish this Constant Shame.
This is Who I Am,
I Laugh, I Love, and I Care.
Don't Look at Me - An Outcast,
I've so Much In Which to Share.
